Kyle Park - Long Distance Relationship
Kyle Park and I wanted to do something that had a deeper meaning. We didn't want just your generic concept about long distance relationships that most people can relate to.
We wanted something deeper...
One day, one of my good friends grandma passed away. I really loved her too, she was such a great person. My friend's grandpa wasn't doing so well and then it hit me. What can everyone relate that are in a long distance relationship? The passing of a loved one to the other side...
We shot this at a wonderful location. It took us about 2 days to shoot the video. The actors that were in this video were really professional and amazing. What was interesting is that each actor had their personal motives from saying goodbye to someone they never had the chance to say goodbye to having a deeper understanding of one's self.

Kyle Park thinking about what we discussed
When thinking of his motives on how he will perform, Kyle Park and director Paul DLC decided that he should be singing as if he is telling the story with passion. KP stated that he was thinking about the passing of a friend when performing.
Actors Jeremy St. James and Ellie Mellen
I remember when I was talking with each individual about their motives. Each had some very personal motives in terms of who or what they would be thinking about when performing. Both did amazing. Jeremy was able to relate to a recent loss of a family member.
"I'm not acting, I am reenacting" - Jeremy St. James
Makeup by Kat Franklin
Kat did amazing in making our actor look like an elder.
One of my favorite screen shots
Fun Fact: while scouting for a location, we noticed this empty cemetery located in the middle of nowhere on top of a hill. I knew this was the one for our video. Originally, we were suppose to film at a different location. We "sort of" ran into this one.
Actress Janelle Stephens
Fun Fact: This video shoot was Janelle's acting debut. I found her as a stand-in on a movie set I was working on months before this production.
The Hat Drop
When discussing how to end the elder's man journey, we thought of various ways to portray his passing to the other side. Then Jeremy and I took a look at his hat...We knew that was it. As soon as he drops his hat on the ground, I was hoping that the audience would understand that the elder has passed away.
Actress Ellie Mellen looks ill...
Great makeup by Kat Franklin to show the beginning stages of her illness. This actress is definitely amazing. We had great talks about her motives and inspirations at our location. She said she was thinking about a friend who had passed away. We had a special bond when discussing her role. I think it's because in my mind, Ellie was representing someone I cared about who had passed away.
Baby Actor Lyric Jay
This was Lyric Jay's acting debut. Working with toddlers is definitely a challenge. As for Lyric, he was quite the opposite...of course with the help of Gold "fishies"
Lyric is the son of our Makeup artist Kat Franklin.
Every now and then, I would add something personal in my videos. Here is a representation of what my father used to be, a welder. I used to think that was our long distance relationship when I was young. I'm sure many can relate.
